At CDK, the Talent Management team has redefined traditional approaches to talent assessment and performance management. Moving away from the conventional nine-box grid, CDK has adopted an innovative Talent Action Planning (TAP) process that simplifies talent reviews and focuses on actionable outcomes. CDK’s alternate approach – dividing talent into four key profiles – enables more effective differentiation and targeted development strategies. By concentrating on performance and potential in a streamlined manner, the process not only saves time but also enhances the quality of development conversations. This approach helps leaders make more efficient and impactful talent decisions, ultimately fostering stronger organizational growth.
